What are the contributions/taxes that can derive from importation?

The payment of taxes will depend on the tariff classification. The import taxes are:

  • IGI - General Import Tax. The percentage is determined according to the tariff fraction and the certificate of origin.
  • DTA - Customs Procedure Law. Right fee of .008 on the customs value or fixed amount of $408 pesos to import. In the case of fixed assets under the IMMEX program, the fee is 1.76 per thousand over the customs value.
  • VAT - Value Added Tax. 16% tax.
  • IEPS - Special Tax on Products and Services. The percentage is determined according to the tariff fraction.
  • PRV – Prevalidator. Tax of $290 pesos plus $46 pesos of VAT.

Important: There are tax exemption programs, depending on the use and purpose of the products in National territory.
