MICHOACAN AND PANAMA WOULD DETONATE THEIR LOGISTICS VOCATIONS
According to Alfredo Anaya Orozco, Secretary of Economic Development of Michoacán, and Alfredo Oranges Bustos, Ambassador of Panama in Mexico, both the state and the country plan to extend their commercial relations and become the next logistics center in North America through the consolidation of the port of Lazaro Cardenas, which was positioned as the fourth port with the highest port movement in 2021.
To achieve this, it is planned to build a cabotage docking center in the port as a point to facilitate the movement of goods from Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sonora, Sinaloa, Nayarit, Colima, Guerrero, Oaxaca, and Chiapas. In addition to creating the Pacific free zone and generating a route with the Gulf of Mexico through the transisthmian corridor to Puerto Progreso, Altamira, and Veracruz.
