The Ministry of Economy (SE), through the National Foreign Trade Information Service (SNICE), informed on Monday through a bulletin that more than 75% of the 700 thousand annual transactions of foreign trade have been simplified, as one measure so that government austerity measures impact users less.

"These measures represent the first response of regulatory improvement of the SE and will continue to deepen it," according to

the bulletin.

These measures range from reducing response times, giving the option that procedures requiring a printed certification can be collected in Mexico City and some other procedures can be submitted by email.

Below are the measures implemented by the federal government:

I. Reduction of activation periods of Permits and Automatic notices of footwear, textile-confection and steel imports.

A. Activation of automatic import permits for textile and clothing products and automatic import permits for footwear: the period of 5 to 3 business days is reduced.

B. Activation of automatic import notices for steel products: the period of 3 to 2 business days is reduced.

Procedure: You will have to enter the application in the usual way, through the VUCEM, indicating the corresponding federal delegation or subdelegation according to your fiscal domicile.

II. You can collect Certificates of Origin and Certificates of Eligibility (TPL's) in Mexico City

You decide where you collect your certificates of origin and eligibility (TPLS's): the representative office of the SE in which you usually collect them or the offices of the General Directorate of Foreign Trade (DGCE) in Mexico City.

You only have to send us, from an institutional email account of the company (commercial email accounts are not accepted), an email adgce.origen@economia.gob.mx or dgce.tpls@economia.gob.mx, as appropriate , indicating that you will pick them up at the offices of the DGCE, and from the next two business days you can pick them up in Mexico City, presenting the acknowledgment of receipt and a copy of an official identification of the person who collects the certificate (INE, IFE , passport and professional license).
